Ahmad Waleed is a British-Pakistani entrepreneur and investor with more than 18 years of international business experience across finance, natural resources,commodities, fintech, real estate, manufacturing, and hospitality.

He has held leadership and investment roles across the UK, UAE, Pakistan, Europe, and North America, with a focus on business growth, capital deployment, and strategic partnerships. As a founder and board-level executive, Ahmad has been involved in building, acquiring, and scaling businesses across multiple industries and jurisdictions.

Amr Abou El Seoud

Amr is a founding member of Tejara Capital Limited and held the position of CEO from 2011 to 2015, before being re-appointed as CEO in mid-2020. He began his career at Coopers Lybrand and Ernst & Young before joining the Investment Dar Company in Kuwait, where over 15 years he progressed from junior analyst to ClO, supervising capital market deals, landmark projects, and growth strategies.

At Tejara Capital limited, his aim is to develop the firm as a prominent UK investment bank providing both Sharia-compliant and traditional financial services. Since 2015 hehas also served as Senior Executive Officer of Tejara Capital International Limited in Dubai.

His achievements include overseeing one of the most innovative global Islamic Sukuk issuances; a major role in the acquisition of Grosvenor House Apartments on Park Lane, London; leading the consortium that acquired Aston Martin Lagonda from Ford in 2007; and advising shareholders on the successful 2018 IPO of Aston Martin.

Mark Stephens

Mark is Head of Commercial at Tejara International Resources, bringing over 25 years of financial markets and dealmaking expertise to the financing and development of natural resources projects. Across a career spanning structured finance, capital markets, and principal investing, he has originated, structured, and executed complex transactions, building a reputation for closing deals in demanding and capital-intensive sectors.

His background combines deep capital markets fluency with hands-on experience in resources financing, where he has worked at the intersection of project capital requirements, investor appetite, and risk-adjusted return. Mark has a particular strength in constructing financing solutions that align the interests of project sponsors, lenders, and equity partners.

An entrepreneurial dealmaker by instinct, Mark previously founded and leda pioneering fintech business that transformed supplier financing through data- driven funding, enabling enterprise suppliers to receive real-time payment on invoices.

Professor Fred Cawood

Integrating mining strategy, policy and innovation to unlock sustainable resource development.

Professor Fred Cawood is Strategic Mining Advisor to the Board of Tejara International Resources, bringing more than four decades of experience across industry, government, academia and consulting to the group’s resource-development strategy. A mining strategist and mineral economist by training, he has built a reputation for integrating technical, economic, policy and technology perspectives into sharper decision-making across the mining life cycle—from mineral valuation and mine surveying to policy reform, investment frameworks and digital mine modernisation.

His career began on the mines of Gold Fields of South Africa and in government at the Department of Minerals and Energy before a distinguished academic tenure as Head of the Wits School of Mining Engineering and Director of the Wits Mining Institute. He has advised governments, mining companies and international organisations—including the World Bank, the African Union and various United Nations agencies—on mineral policy, mining taxation, royalty frameworks and resource governance across Africa and internationally.

A recognised thought leader in mining innovation and digital transformation, Professor Cawood is the author of more than 130 publications and founder of Minserv, his strategic advisory practice. He holds a PhD in Mining Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand, where he serves as Professor Emeritus, and an LLM in Mineral Law and Policy from the University of Dundee.

Dr. Sarfraz Ali

Cutting the path from discovery to production from a decade to a few years.

Dr. Sarfraz Ali is a distinguished Mining-Rock Engineering expert with a strong focus on advanced geomechanics, surface and deep-level mining challenges, and sustainable mining development in Pakistan. Holding a PhD from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, he has established himself as a critical link between advanced South African mining expertise and Pakistan’s fast-track mineral growth initiatives.

A pioneer of the NUST-Wits collaboration and leader of NUST’s mining capacity- building initiatives in Johannesburg (2013-2016), he champions an integrated “Fast-Track” strategy: accelerating regulatory approvals, leveraging Al/ML-driven exploration, deploying advanced mining technologies, and shifting from raw exports to high-value, locally processed products. He has also led pioneering research on predictive forecasting and control of rockburst potential in deep and ultra-deep gold and platinum mines.
